 2022.08.11 ONGOING: BRANDBERGEN CENTRUM UNDER CONSTRUCTION - HOUSE #3 |  2022.07.07 VILUNDA - BUILDING PERMIT SUBMITTED! The project is part of the Västra Vilunda masterplan. This centrally located area is developed from suburb to city through a mixed densification with housing and businesses. The project consists of two buildings with a common raised courtyard. With the help of indentations, the building volumes are divided into smaller parts. The simple incision creates a greater variation in the street scape and reduces the scale of the volumes.  2020.06.09 BRANDBERGEN CENTRUM - BUILDING PERMIT APPROVED AND ON SITE WORK STARTED! Exciting times for our office and great news for Serneke and Savana! Brandbergen Centrum will soon be transformed into an attractive and lively meeting place for residents, users and visitors. A variety of buildings, containing both public functions and housing with high living qualities and new outdoor environments will be added to the area in three urban blocks. |  2020.04.02 ONGOING: SÄTRA CENTRUM DELIVERED TO TEKNISKA NÄMNDHUSET, MUNICIPALITY OF STOCKHOLM |  BRANDBERGEN CENTRUM PROJECT GOES INTO ITS NEXT STAGE 2020.02.24 Serneke will be the contractor when Brandbergen Centrum, is remodelled and expanded. Savana AB and Serneke have signed a turnkey contract valued at approximately SEK 500 million. The project includes six residential buildings with 400 apartments and an extension of the shopping centre. On site work will start in March 2020 with the demolition. The project includes a total of six new residential buildings and an extension of the shopping centre. The new development will vary in height, from 1-19 floors. "A School of Schools" discusses the challenges faced by design education in today’s changing world and it explores alternative models of design education in general. Jumping between the venues gave us even a great opportunity to discover Karaköy, an amazing and vibrant area of Istanbul, and to meet local architects and designers. |
 2018.06.08 PUBLIC ART IN SÄTRA CENTRUM Urban Couture curated and installed enamels in Sätra Centrum specially produced by artist Madeleine Pyk. This permanent, public exhibition is an initiative by Ahnström & Pyk to create a more attractive atmosphere and evoke positivity. We hope her naivistic style will bring joy to the inhabitants and visitors of all ages. The project consists of summer house and a guest house on a waterfront property. The site is a beautiful undulating landscape of pine trees and sculptural rocks with views towards the sea and includes two own islets. |  2017.09.01 COMPLETED LOFTS ON SÖDERMALM |  2017.03.10 WE HAVE MOVED TO A NEW OFFICE SPACE! We are very glad to announce that we have moved to a new location in downtown Stockholm. From Oldtown to SoFo on Södermalm. If you're in the area, come in! |  2017.08.08 ARCHITECS MEETING & STUDY TRIP JAPAN During July UCA travelled through Japan on an amazing study trip. We started in Tokyo and then zigzagged through the country all the way down to the Okinawa Islands. We visited modern and classical Japanese architecture but, main focus was to study the work of the Metabolism architects. The program was based on the book Project Japan Metabolism Talks of Rem Koolhaas and Hans U. Obrist. |  2016.10.28 FINALIST FOR THE STOCKHOLM INNOVATION SCHOLARSHIP We are glad to announce that our innovation project is selected as one of the finalists for the 2016 STHLM Innovation Scholarship. Although we cannot reveal too much about the content we can say that the project is testing and stretching the boundaries of Stockholms urban region. The aim of the Stockholm Innovation Scholarship is to reward and encourage people with bright ideas to take the next step towards developing these ideas. |
 2016.08.22 LOFT CONVERSION IN SUNDBYBERG Urban Couture's design for the conversion of two attic spaces in the centre of Sundbyberg into 6 generous 2-room apartments has received building permission after a fruitful dialogue with Sundbyberg kommun and the chairman of the housing association of Kv Liden. During the next phase a contractor will be selected. Planning building start winter 2016. |  2016.05.20 LOFT 101 STARTS CONSTRUCTION The transformation of a grand attic space on Södermalm into two exclusive apartments has started. After clearing the complete space new dormers will be placed. Then the steel construction for the mezzanine floor will be welded. Completion is planned spring 2017. |  2016.05.30 UCA SUBMITS A UNIQUE SOLUTION FOR SKELLEFTEÅ KULTURHUS With one of the most original, compact and integrated proposals Urban Couture competed with 54 other companies to design Skellefteås new cultural centre and hotel. ‘Rubikshus’ offers a contemporary open meeting place, which can adapt to any kind of cultural or social activity in the city. |  2016.05.04 HOUSING PROJECT IN VALENCIA We are flying to Valencia for a potential project along the coast just north of the city. The project includes two holiday homes close to the beautiful beach of La Malva-Rosa. This would be the first project in Spain for the office! |  2016.03.01 LOFT CONVERSION BLOCK LIDEN Urban Couture received a new commission in the city centre of Sundbyberg, a suburb north of Stockholm. The project consists of the conversion of two lofts located in two elegant building blocks from 1946 along the central street Sturegatan. |  2015.06.21 PROJECT RAW Urban Couture will start with a preliminary design for their second loft conversion in Stockholm. The currently empty attic with a floor area of around 350 m2 will be transformed into 1 unique apartment with view over Barnhusviken and Vasastan. Construction is planned to start during spring 2016. |
 2015.09.04 DEVELOPING NEW STRATEGIES FOR SPRIDD Urban Couture is commissioned by the Stockholm based architecture office Spridd to develop a strategic business development plan. The goal is to proactively identify new opportunities to stimulate the growth of the company. Spridd is working on very interesting and ambitious socio-cultural projects in and around Stockholm. www.spridd.se |  2015.07.03 PRIZEWINNER IN OPEN COMPETITION With our proposal ‘The Parking Palace’ we won the 2nd prize in an open architecture competition organized by BAI Den Bosch, in The Netherlands. The project asked for sustainable and innovative ideas to transform the roof of a parking building in the city center. During the annual architecture festival in Den Bosch, BAI Night, Urban Couture received the prize from Eric Logister, Alderman for Education, Urban Transformation, Land Development and Housing |  2015.01.07 INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION WITH DIRK JAN POSTEL URBAN COUTURE + KRAAIJVANGER Louise Jalilian and Dirk Jan Postel are starting an international collaboration to pursue projects in Scandinavia and The Netherlands together.
