A total of 16 new townhouses are planned on two plots along Lilla Sällskapetsväg in Bredäng, Stockholm. The dwellings are a welcome addition in an area characterized by small apartments. Spacious and close-to-nature homes are created for families who want to live close to town but enjoy the comfort of their own terrace. The dwellings are organised in two floors and are carefully adapted to the hilly terrain with the aim to retain as much natural land as possible.
On the southern plot, the houses are designed with a full entrance floor with a large garden towards the street. This level contains generous social spaces with kitchen, living and dining area, but also an extra room which can be used as working space, tv-room, hobby room or as an extra bedroom. The addition of a souterrain floor below, containing bedrooms and storage space, ensures that the volumes land in a natural way on the sloping site.
The houses on the northern plot have a similar layout, only exist the bedrooms on the upper floor. The whole project is planned to be manufactured as prefabricated wooden modules. With some well-thought-out design details and minor additional work in place, the modular character of the houses will disappear completely.
The facades are clad with wooden panels and the window frames pick up colour tones from the surrounding buildings. Elaborate building complements, such as outdoor terrace, storage units, screen walls, parapets and so on help to anchor the buildings to the local context.
At the same time as planning phase is underway, we are working intensively with both module manufacturers and the foundation contractor to ensure an optimal feasible and sustainable solution. In this way, the right foundations are laid for the project within budget and schedule.
